Bertrand Honnay
Finance Director
Bertrand was appointed Glion Finance Director in 2024, continuing a successful career in accounting and finance which has seen him hold positions in both his native Belgium and his adopted country of Switzerland, where he has lived for more than a decade.
For Bertrand, coming to Glion also means a reacquaintance with hospitality management, which was the subject of his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and MBA degrees. After completing these programs, he joined the team at the Radisson Blu EU Hotel in Brussels. There he worked initially as a Cost Controller and Accounting Clerk before being promoted to Accounting Supervisor.
Following a stint at the Radisson Blu Palace Hotel in Spa, Bertrand left the business of hospitality – and Belgium – when he joined the Swiss-based company Kudelski Group as Head Quarter Accounts Payables Manager.
Further Swiss roles took Bertrand to Accuray International and Loxam SA. In the latter company he was Chief Accounting Officer, managing both the accounting and human resources teams while also leading the migration to a new enterprise resources planning (ERP) platform.
After these experiences, Bertrand stepped into the world of academia by accepting the position as Director of Finance at Collège Alpin Beau Soleil, an international boarding school for students aged 11 to 18 years. He was additionally appointed to the school’s board.
Outside of his financial responsibilities for the school, Bertrand was able to connect with a sporting passion from his youth when he took over as coach of the Beau Soleil Basketball Team for students aged 15 to 18 – a role that enabled him to become more actively involved in school life.
Fluent in English and with a good command of Dutch, alongside his native language of French, Bertrand is also a European certified first aid attendant.
