Dr. Zabin Visram

Dr. Zabin Visram is a distinguished academic and professional with extensive international management experience in universities.
Recognized for her significant contributions to the field, she has presented her research at numerous prestigious conferences worldwide, including in Florida, Canada, Ireland, Portugal, Dubai, and England.
Currently, Dr. Visram serves as an Associate Professor at Glion Institute of Higher Education, where she is also an elected member of the faculty council and consults on the Academic and Research board. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She lectures on a diverse range of subjects, intercultural leadership and management, events and hospitality, curriculum development, research methods, and business strategy.
Dr. Visram has taught at several universities, ranging from prestigious traditional universities including Warwick university, University of London, Open university to vocational institutions, She has also held leadership roles as a member of the Board of Governors, an external examiner for universities. In her role as Global Academic Director for Tourism for the University of Central Asia, Dr. Visram spearheads the development of the tourism department and curricula for three mountain universities in Central Asia. She oversees the formation of educational partnerships with global universities and business partnerships, focusing on developing hospitality and tourism infrastructure in India and the mountain regions of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Dr. Visram has a first-class honours degree, masters, several post graduate teaching qualifications and a doctorate, which focused on a pluralistic approach to multicultural relations. In her role as an Ambassador, she fosters diplomatic relations, collaborations, and partnerships with national and international tourism stakeholders. Her work emphasizes micro-tourism to enhance the tourism sector and improve livelihoods, contributing to the socio-economic development of the mountain regions.
Driven by a passion for lifelong learning and ethical leadership, Dr. Visram is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of leaders. Her personal philosophy is deeply rooted in respect for diversity and inclusion, underpinning her dedication to education, innovation, and community development. In her voluntary work, Dr. Visram has developed a digital learning technology platform driven by AI to facilitate language learning for refugees across Europe.
Notable achievements include best paper awards for her research at international conferences, awards for research and business schools, such as the Global Hospitality Award from Global Hospitality Magazine and being named one of the Global 25 Most Influential Educators in Hospitality for 2021 by The International Hospitality Institute. Dr. Visram received the Team London Award for outstanding contribution to improving London and the quality of life for its residents, presented by the Mayor of London and former Prime Minister of England, Boris Johnson.
